Volunteer Court
Appointed Special Advocates are
everyday people who receive special training and are appointed
by Judges to advocate for the best interest of abused and
neglected children.
A CASA Volunteer works on
behalf of each child until he or she is placed in a safe
permanent and nurturing home.Every year more than half a million
abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent
nurturing homes. Too many spend years moving from one temporary
home to another. They have no family to call their own. They are
more likely than other to face homelessness, unemployment, even
prison as adults.
That's where CASA steps in.
CASA Volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for
children in court. The objective is that they be placed into
safe and loving homes where they can thrive. A safe permanent
home isn't something a child should only dream about.
